Lake Iseo...Perhaps the greatest of the Italian great lakes and certainly the smallest. Smallest but not small. 16km's long, 250mts deep with Europes largest Inland Island. Stretching from Bergamo (near Milan) up to the Camonica Valley between the lower Alpine mountains. Greatest because it's unspoilt with loads of activities to do and situated just 25 mins from the Montecampione ski resort and 20 mins from Ryanair Italian hub at Milan Bergamo airport. So why does nobody promote it ? It's in the Brand. Garda has the name, Iseo does not. But Iseo has everything else at half the price !!! Windsurf, Sailing, waterski, Canoeing, Mountain bike, Trekking, and Lovere port village, voted in Italy's top twenty characteristic villages. There is also a ferry boat service, dinner on the lake, good quality Hotels and just behind in the Camonica Valley, the largest concentration of cave writings in Europe (UNESCO world heritage site).
