Engcom.net was started mid 2007 as an experiment to look at ways in which Engineers could share knowledge. There are many forums for engineers out there however the discussion centers around the same topics. They often tended to focus on more technical questions and themes which are very important however do not give much of an insight into the mind of an engineer.

Through discussing media relating to engineering the site provides two services. First and foremost it is a great place to find interesting articles and news relating but secondly this news is stimulus for topics of discussion that may not normally arise and through which we can learn a lot more about what exactly it is that makes an engineer tick.

The websites creators are John, Ryan and Sean Chadwick.

John Chadwick is an engineer who was worked on a variety of projects covering many different areas. He has been involved all the levels from drafting through to OH&S and project management and has a passion for engineering. John as been responsible for the original idea of the site and manages it's running.

Ryan Chadwick is as IT professional who has a fascination with processes. Ryan created and manages the site from the technical side of things.

Sean Chadwick is a graphic designer and is the one behind the look and feel of the site.
